Boleros De Noche is already a beloved tradition in Los Angeles, where for the past 10 years the concert series has celebrated the timeless legacy of bolero music with more than 20,000 attendees. Now, the 2nd Annual Boleros De Noche in Chicago promises an unforgettable evening of romance and musical tradition—music that feels like a love letter, sung softly but meant to be heard.
If you’ve ever had a bolero soundtrack your life—whether it’s the song your parents played on Sunday mornings, the one you danced to at a family party, or the one that helped you heal after heartbreak—this is your night. Ven con nosotros.
A lineup rooted in tradition—and alive right now
Boleros De Noche brings together artists who honor the classics while keeping the spirit of the music fresh, modern, and deeply human.
Headliner: Martha Gonzalez
Headlining the evening is Grammy Award-winning Chicana musician, composer, and feminist music scholar Martha Gonzalez. Her work carries the heart of community, the power of story, and the kind of musical presence that makes a theater feel intimate.
Martha’s artistry doesn’t just perform boleros—it lives them. Expect a set that’s rich with emotion, musicality, and that unmistakable feeling of being in the room with something timeless.
On piano: Marco Antonio Godoy
Accompanying Martha is Latin Grammy-nominated arranger and pianist Marco Antonio Godoy, performing a selection of beloved bolero classics and favorites.
Bolero is all about nuance: the breath before a phrase, the tenderness in a chord, the way a melody can say what words can’t. Marco’s approach as an arranger and pianist is built for that kind of detail—supporting the song, elevating the story, and giving the music space to shine.
In 2023, Marco received a Latin Grammy nomination for his orchestral arrangement of “Adoro” (Armando Manzanero), directed by world-class conductor Alondra de La Parra and featuring renowned Spanish singer Buika.
Featuring: Voz Bohemia
Also joining the evening is Voz Bohemia, a Los Angeles–based trío romántico with a strong foundation in bolero and ranchera music. Comprised of Mary Alfaro Velasco, Jesús Gudiño, and Ray Gudiño, the multigenerational ensemble honors classic tríos while reflecting the broader soundscape of Los Angeles, México, Latinoamérica, and beyond.
Dedicated to preserving and sharing the bolero tradition, Voz Bohemia performs timeless repertoire and original works for audiences of all ages. If you love the classic trío sound—tight harmonies, romantic phrasing, and that elegant, old-school cadence—Voz Bohemia will feel like home.
Why Boleros De Noche matters
Boleros De Noche’s mission is simple and powerful: to preserve and celebrate bolero music around the world.
That mission matters because bolero is more than a genre—it’s a living archive of our emotions and our culture. It holds memory. It holds language. It holds the way we love: with tenderness, with honesty, with drama, with humor, with corazón.
And in a time when so much moves fast, bolero invites us to slow down. To listen closely. To feel something real. To share a night out that’s family-friendly, welcoming, and full of good energy.
What to expect at Harris Theater
This Chicago return isn’t just a concert—it’s an experience. Expect an evening that balances tradition with a modern sensibility: a celebration that feels elevated, warm, and community-centered.
Whether you’re coming with your partner, your friends, your parents, or your whole crew, Boleros De Noche is built for connection. It’s the kind of night where you’ll leave humming a melody—and maybe texting someone you miss.
